PreFirex is a new proactive firefighting liquid for firefighters to combat wildfires

Prefirex activates before flames ignite—creating a protective barrier that cools, halts fire spread, and nourishes the earth.

How Prefirex Works

From application to soil recovery — here’s what makes Prefirex a next-generation fire prevention solution.

Step 1: Simple Ground Application

Prefirex is a ready-to-use liquid that requires no mixing or dilution.
It’s sprayed directly onto dry vegetation, forest floors, buffer zones, or critical infrastructure surroundings using standard spraying equipment.

Key benefit:

No special tools, no additives — quick deployment on the go.

Step 2: Heat Detection & Activation

As temperatures rise in the environment — either due to seasonal heat, nearby fires, or sun exposure — Prefirex reacts. Its patented formula is thermally activated, meaning it only responds when there’s actual risk.

Key benefit:

Reacts only when needed, reducing waste and avoiding unnecessary changes to the ecosystem.

Step 2: Surface Cooling

Once activated by heat, Prefirex begins to release moisture into the soil and surrounding vegetation. This drop in temperature inhibits ignition, creating a localized cooling effect that prevents fire from starting or spreading. This barrier lasts up to 5 days, protecting the ground from catching fire and giving firefighting teams a valuable head start.

Key benefits:

Stops wildfires at the ignition stage, not just during active burns.

The fire break prevents the fire from spreading further and it can be used for redirecting an aggressive fire front.

Step 4: Physical Fire Barrier Formation

In addition to cooling, Prefirex creates a short-term fire-resistant layer over the sprayed area. This barrier lasts up to 5 days, protecting the ground from catching fire and giving firefighting teams a valuable head start.

Key benefit:

Forms a protective zone without damaging the natural environment.

Step 3: Eco Transformation into Fertilizer

After the fire risk has passed, Prefirex doesn’t leave residue. Instead, it naturally breaks down and transforms into a gentle soil-enriching fertilizer, aiding vegetation recovery and reducing erosion.

Key benefit:

Supports ecological healing instead of leaving harmful byproducts behind.

Proactive Protection

Beyond Traditional Firefighting

Prefirex isn’t just a reactive tool — it’s a proactive fire defense
technology. Unlike traditional firefighting methods that combat fire after it begins, Prefirex activates before flames ignite.

By forming a chemical firebreak, it helps protect forests, critical zones, and communities in the most fire-prone environments.

Prevent flame ignition. Reduce spread. Minimize damage.

Guidelines for Safe & Effective Application

Apply with Standard Equipment

It is fast and easy to spray with any available equipment, from hand pumps and fire hoses to farming machinery, aircrafts and even drones.

Use 1–3 Liters per m²

Use 3l/m2 for normal intensity fire.

Fire Intensity depends type of terrain, moisture & dryness of the vegetation/soil and speed of wind

Long-Lasting Barrier

Under normal weather conditions, the fire-retardant layer remains active for several days.

Creates a Chemical Firebreak

Once applied, Prefirex forms a defensive barrier that prevents fires from advancing or igniting from sparks.

Proven by Experts

“Tests carried out by military fire brigades show that Prefirex is effectively in stopping the progress of wildfires”

— Kimmo Oinonen, Rescue Chief Fire, Inspector of the Defense Forces Finland

“The tests provide a clear indication that the PREFIREX offers a strong fire retarding capacity and at 1.5 l/m2 dosage it stopped the fire spread completely”

— Mr. George Kazakis, Research Fellow in Environmental Management, Fire Laboratory of MAICh
